They're Definitely Brothers
Rounding The Corner On Recovery
Carson has made amazing progress this past week, we are also in awe over how much he is changing in looks. Initially, we thought he was going to look like me- but as the days pass, it is evident he is looking more like his daddy and Tyler (especially the lips). Carson is now off all oxygen and breathing great on his own and is being bottle fed (they are taking the central line out tomorrow and will then be breast fed). Below are some pictures we took this morning. He is downing milk in about 2 minutes flat (at least he has taken something after me), and is resting well. What you will see in the pictures are stickers on his chest to monitor his heart rate and body temperature and velcro tabs on his temples to keep his eye shades on while under the lights. We are looking for Carson to come home middle of next week!

Fort Knox(ville)
After coming to the conclusion that Tyler was outgrowing a lot of his toys, at least developmentally, we decided to change things up a bit and capitalize on his latest hobby...building forts. A trip to Toy's R Us proved successful after finding the "Super Fort Mega Builder" on clearance. Tyler is going through a stage where you think he is going to love a toy, only to get home and have him play with it for 5 minutes before losing interest. For this reason, anything on clearance is a smart way to go unless we know it is going to be a hit. We lucked up- not only did he and Tommy have a blast building the fort, but Tyler has now been inside it for about 20 minutes yelling, "Cool house!" over and over. I documented the construction process as the men worked...

Snow Day In Knoxville
The predictions were correct for once! We woke up this morning to a blanket of snow, about 1 1/2 inches deep- which is pretty generous for Fountain City. While I am told other parts of Knoxville only got a dusting, we felt fortunate to have enough accumulation to hit the front yard at 7:45am for some pictures. Tyler was not crazy about the snow, he seemed to enjoy it more through the window of our heated home while watching Mickey Mouse Club, but at 30 degrees and 7 something in the morning, who can blame him? The sun has just come out, so I am betting that everything will be gone soon- but I have a feeling today will still be a stay inside and build forts and make cookies day.

NOW We Are Serious About Some Ball
Tommy was cleaning out our carport today when Tyler stumbled across one of Tommy's old batting helmets. I know I am posting way too many times about Tyler playing with his ball set, but he LOVES it! Below are some of the pictures I took of him sporting his new "hat". The second picture was Tyler expressing his distaste for the camera- I barely made it out of the line of impact...the boy can place a ball.
