Blueberry Breakfast

Even though we were all still a little full from last nights blueberry cobbler, troopers do not complain. We all slept in a little and waddled to the table this morning where Tommy had prepared a feast of blueberry pancakes and turkey bacon. Tyler insisted that he needed even more berry's to compliment his meal and poured them on top as well. In this month before Tommy has to start work, we are loving him perfecting his culinary skills on the willing. Berry good, berry good indeed.

Thomas Berry Farm

Today was a great day. My Aunt Linda, Uncle Bob and their kids Daniel and Samantha came for a visit. The day got kicked off at about 10am with a tour of our home (which lasted until approximately 10:02am). Then they all went down to the Dillsboro Rafting Company to hit the river. I stayed home with Carson- first requirement is kids have to be 4 yrs old or 40 lbs, I also could not imagine the looks of a pregnant woman in her third trimester fighting the rapids downstream. After rafting for almost 6 miles- the weary crew came back for lunch and downtime. After a short nap, we all loaded up to go to Thomas Berry Farm in Cullowhee NC. Mr. Thomas had planted over 900 blueberry bushes! We fought heat and gnats, but won a total of just over 11 lbs of blueberry's. What an incredible day- and about to be incredible night...the kids are getting a bath as I blog and my blueberry cobbler will be ready in about 15 minutes!

Tyler, Samantha and Daniel starting the pick.
I took this picture at the top of the hill overlooking some of the berry farm- keep in mind there were several rows behind and to the sides of me.
Tommy trying to fill his bucket with a 30 pound taste tester riding behind.

Daniel and Tyler inspecting the berries.

Ladies Man

Ok, this gives new meaning to the term. Tyler was able to reach one of my sundresses that was drying in the laundry room and helped himself to a personal fitting. The funniest part of this picture was Carson's confused expression while watching Tyler model the new outfit. I guess Tommy needs to leave more ties laying around the house for when Tyler has an urge to play dress up.

G-Ma and Carson

I simply love this picture. Of all of the shots taken at Tyler's birthday party, I keep looking at this one. My mom and Carson had just come down the giant side at a pretty impressive speed. My camera did not go off when I had wanted it to, but this super close up one was even better.

Happy 4th Birthday Tyler!!!!

Although we have celebrated for over a week now, today is Tyler's actual birthday. In awe of how big he has gotten- both in size and capabilities, we could not be more proud of Tyler. This picture was taken a few hours ago by the river where he and Tommy went tubing. Requirements for the adventure: 4 years old or 40 lbs. Both met! Happy Birthday Tyler, you are so loved!!!

Birthday With A Little Bounce

Thursday we went to Knoxville to celebrate Tyler's 4th birthday at Bounce USA. He turns 4 on July 12th-but it worked out perfectly to celebrate a few days earlier with all of his friends and family. Tyler had the most amazing time and Tommy and I were overwhelmed with the turn out. We are so appreciative for our circle of friends and incredible family for helping to make this birthday extra special. I know that Tyler will not forget the night he had and it was so wonderful to see everyone before heading back to North Carolina. We will be in the area often and cannot wait to get together soon.

New Home, Part II

And the tour continues... This is a view from our side porch- to the left of the table and chairs are the doors that open from the eat in kitchen. The porch wraps around the house, but this is the best side to view the mountains.

Another picture of the kitchen and eat in- you can see the doors leading to the porch. Again to the left of the eat in is the dining room.
This room serves many purposes. For now it is the guest/nursery. On the other side of the bed is Carson's crib. In about 6 months, Carson will share a room with Ty and this will be guest/girls nursery.
And the boys bathroom! I didn't get a picture of the best part- you will have to use your imagination... On the other side of the wall beside the shower is the toilet with a glow in the dark solar system hanging from the ceiling (compliments of G-Ma). Makes for a real interesting bathroom experience.

Besides our master and the boys rooms, a reading nook, mudroom and hallways- you have been given the official tour. I doubt I will post exterior pictures for a while since it will be a while before we landscape...but if you are dying to see more- COME VISIT US!!!!
