Tonight was "boy's night" in the Hodges family. I stayed home and relaxed and watched American Idol at a friends house and Tommy and Tyler went to the UT mens basketball game. As always, Tyler did awesome at the game and they both had a great time. I took this picture when they got home- as you can see, Tyler is wound up and ready to show off his shaker.

So Maybe We Need To Diversify Our Social Circle...
Or just limit the viewing of Dora The Explorer Saves The Puppies Movie. Tonight at the playground Tyler passed a little girl of hispanic decent on the rope bridge and yelled, "Dora!!!"

Last One On One Visit With The Grandparents...
Tommy's parents came into town this weekend for one last visit before the baby comes. We all had a great time, and as you can see from the picture- Tyler is happiest when he is the center of attention. We will have to see how this all plays out when Carson arrives...

Speaking of Carson...I went to the doctor on Friday for an ultrasound to check his size (we are all thinking he is going to be a big baby). At 33 weeks and one day (actually the exact day Tyler was born gestationally)- Carson is measuring 36 weeks and weights 6 lbs. (Tyler was born weighing 5 lbs 9 1/2 ounces and the doctors said he was very big for his age). My doctor assures us that he will taper off soon on weight gain and predicts that he will be about 7 1/2 lbs at birth. Tommy and I are not too convinced- but I will have another ultrasound at 39 weeks to get a better idea of how big he might be.

Regressing Much?
Last night we had friends over for a SuperBowl party (the party consisted of pizza and watching The Office season 3 DVD, then catching the last few minutes of the actual game after they left). Our friends have a 10 month old little girl, so Tommy raided the basement for age appropriate toys and our exersaucer for babies. We could not get Tyler out of the exersaucer all night and he wanted to watch Mickey Mouse clubhouse in his seat this morning. I did not think your toddler was supposed to regress until after the baby arrived...

It Might Be Too Cold For The Animals, But Not For Us
Even though it was freezing this morning, we bundled up and took a trip to the zoo. Tyler's friend Wyatt came with us and we actually found it easier than just having Tyler since they entertained each other. Besided me getting lost from my party after a bathroom break and having to ride the golf cart around the zoo with a staff member, the trip was a sucess.

Summer On The Brain
When given the choice of playing any game or reading any book in the house, Tyler chose a different game....dress up. The only other time we have seen Tyler really want to play this game is when he tries on our shoes or wants to put on jewlery (don't judge). Tonight he went straight to his room and pulled out all of his pool attire including his water shoes and has refused to take them off. I guess even if it feels like 20 below outside, a boys imagination can let him be lounging on the beach and splashing in the waves.
